Pay It Forward

Anyone who is looking for help

On their darkest days

Or even in their happiest of times

Does not deserve to suffer.

The act of seeking support

Shows a desire to change

A hunger for growth

A passion to live their lives

In the best way possible.

The pursuit of self enlightenment

Finding one’s purpose

And traveling through the

Hills and valleys of life

With their dignity in tact

Is reached through

Helping others

So they can build their foundation

And support themselves

And helping yourself

Be the best version of you.

Happy Father’s Day to all of the Dad’s out there! This poem was inspired by my dad. He is the most giving person that I know, and has helped more people than I can count. My family continues to inspire me and teach me lessons about life, and I couldn’t have asked for better support.

Viper

Her scales-

       A delicate balance

       Between  lust&grace

       And a fatal endless agony

Smooth to the touch

Thick as the fear and desire

Her forked tongue tastes

In the air.

She’s beautiful

And she’s got her sights set on you.

She’s poised

Statuesque

But before you know it

She strikes

Leaving you

Without the hope of survival.

Moving On

In the end, there’s just

Me

Allow yourself to see it from my view:

Love is something you lose yourself in

Regret is when you realize, too late that

Everything has changed

And instead of losing yourself, you lost me.

Dreams are haunting your waking hours with

Yearning, but nothing can be changed.

Go on, move forward. There’s

Only so much more that can be done when

Never means forever and

Everything we had is lost.

Wanting To Be Alone

I’m holding on to you,

My dear,

I’ll never let you go.

But what if space

Is what I need? I may be

Here, physically,

But my presence isn’t present.

I love you

Don’t you love me?

Yes, but I

Love myself more.

Mirrors

Don’t look.

Just walk right by-

Quickly

Before your eyes lock

On the reflection

That isn’t yours.

She looks like you,

But she’s grinning a toothy smile

While your lips are pressed tight.

Her gaze holds you-

And before you know it

You’re leaning closer…

Hands reach out from the glass

Grab you

Force your head to make impact with the mirror-

Shattering

Rings in your ears as

Your

World

Crashes

Down

Around

You…

Copper

A penny for my thoughts?

Give me a pen and a paper

And I’ll take you on a journey

Past the contrasting black ink

On the white-as-snow page

And show you the mechanics

Of my brain. Here my thoughts

Are carried away on

Post-it notes of their own

Until they’re pieced together

Like separate pieces of the same puzzle,

A bigger idea made from

Several smaller ones

Placed out for very few to read.

Give me a penny, if you wish,

But I guarantee

It’s more than what you bargained for.

Growing Older

A child’s mind cracked open wide

For learning and growing

Walking all alone, their own stride

With confidence showing.

But soon they will grow much too big

And forget their own self.

They will have to search hard and dig,

Wiping dust off the shelf.

They will look back with a smile

On all the things they learned-

How could they forget? A long while…

My, how the tables turned!
