Pay It Forward

Anyone who is looking for help

On their darkest days

Or even in their happiest of times

Does not deserve to suffer.

The act of seeking support

Shows a desire to change

A hunger for growth

A passion to live their lives

In the best way possible.

The pursuit of self enlightenment

Finding one’s purpose

And traveling through the

Hills and valleys of life

With their dignity in tact

Is reached through

Helping others

So they can build their foundation

And support themselves

And helping yourself

Be the best version of you.

Happy Father’s Day to all of the Dad’s out there! This poem was inspired by my dad. He is the most giving person that I know, and has helped more people than I can count. My family continues to inspire me and teach me lessons about life, and I couldn’t have asked for better support.

Viper

Her scales-

       A delicate balance

       Between  lust&grace

       And a fatal endless agony

Smooth to the touch

Thick as the fear and desire

Her forked tongue tastes

In the air.

She’s beautiful

And she’s got her sights set on you.

She’s poised

Statuesque

But before you know it

She strikes

Leaving you

Without the hope of survival.

Moving On

In the end, there’s just

Me

Allow yourself to see it from my view:

Love is something you lose yourself in

Regret is when you realize, too late that

Everything has changed

And instead of losing yourself, you lost me.

Dreams are haunting your waking hours with

Yearning, but nothing can be changed.

Go on, move forward. There’s

Only so much more that can be done when

Never means forever and

Everything we had is lost.

Mirrors

Don’t look.

Just walk right by-

Quickly

Before your eyes lock

On the reflection

That isn’t yours.

She looks like you,

But she’s grinning a toothy smile

While your lips are pressed tight.

Her gaze holds you-

And before you know it

You’re leaning closer…

Hands reach out from the glass

Grab you

Force your head to make impact with the mirror-

Shattering

Rings in your ears as

Your

World

Crashes

Down

Around

You…

Things Unsaid

There are many things I’d like to say to you

The fact that I was lying

To your face

For the majority of my life

That I loved you

And hated you

Equally and simultaneously

That I wished you were more

Than the man you thought you were

And would become the man you always dreamed of

And I want to

Be honest with you

For the first time in my life

Tell you that I care

About every hurtful word

You threw my way

And I would

Change the past

To change the future

And make the present right

But I can’t

Because

You’re

Not

Here.

Valediction of a Chapter In Life

Gone are the days of independence

traded for housework

And new life goals

Of creating a family

And earning success.

No more immature debauchery,

Finished with pearls,

Longer hemlines

And modest necklines.

I miss the days

Of reckless fun,

But I’ve moved up

And on

And traded it for self love

And you.

My Friend, The Sun

The sun rises

Graces the falling leaves

With her presence

Causing them to glisten

As they flutter

Silently toward the ground

She peeks through

The highest leaves

To find me

Sitting on a tree limb

She smiles upon me

And spreads her rays outwards

To greet me

With a warm embrace

She stays above me

A guardian in the sky

Watching over me,

As I ponder

New beginnings,

Keeping me safe.

Journey

I’ll let my thoughts

Take me on a journey

With no expectations

So they will not disappoint.

They’ll come to me

When I least expect it

And lift me up

So high

That buildings

Cannot contain my spirits.

They’ll take me to new places

With enough spare time to explore-

A forest

That houses my memories,

An ocean

That holds my heart,

A mountain

That captures my soul-

Allowing me to find myself.

But when I least expect it

They’ll drop me

And I’ll tumble

And fall

All the way back to earth

With a rough landing

In reality.

Who Are You?

You don’t know me,

But I suppose you think you do.

Look at me

Critique me

And say what you please

But what you see-

Well, there’s more than just that.

Be mindful of your judging eyes

For they’ll deceive you:

Make you look bigger to yourself

When you’re really quite small

Especially in comparison

To the personality that you’re scoffing at

Because in some way

It mirrors your imperfections out loud

And now you’re the one on display

For all to point at and laugh.
