Viper

Her scales-

       A delicate balance

       Between  lust&grace

       And a fatal endless agony

Smooth to the touch

Thick as the fear and desire

Her forked tongue tastes

In the air.

She’s beautiful

And she’s got her sights set on you.

She’s poised

Statuesque

But before you know it

She strikes

Leaving you

Without the hope of survival.

Psyche

A beauty so hypnotic

Poses danger to your existence,

Unless it captures

The attention of a god.

He was so willing to rescue you

You spoiled girl,

He gave you riches

And lavish love.

He saved your life

But you still wanted more.

You lost him

You lustful lover,

Prove you love him

And maybe he’ll forgive you.

Prove you love him

And maybe you can have him back.

You’ve done all there was to do,

But even if you think the competition is over,

You’ll never win this battle

For the green-eyed monster

Is your mother-in-law.

Tell Me That You Love Me

Tell me that you love me

I want to hear you say the words,

but also feel them so I know it’s real

and not just my deepest desires. I want

your words to feel so heavy that they create

fire from the friction of being rubbed against

your tongue. I want your eyes to show so

much passion that they make me feel

your arms grasped tightly around

me with just one look. I want

you to make me feel like

there’s nobody else in

the world meant for

you as much as I

am. All it takes is

three heavily

weighted

words.

I love

you.

The World We Live In

Straight past the busy street

With cars as fast as a shooting star

Blurring past you in the night

To the quiet neighborhood

With houses lined up side by side

Sleeping next to one another

For warmth, comfort, strength in numbers.

The dull glow of the street light

Takes place above the neighborhood

As if it were a glowing planet

Keeping watch, keeping us safe.

Turn right down the winding road

That slithers like a snake

Passing more sleeping houses

With the occasional dim television night light.

One more right will lead you to

Transplanted palm trees reaching out to the heavens

With birds resting in the palm frond fingers

And cats prowling the trodden earth

With hungry eyes- disturbed by the

Put-put-puttering of an old

Busted white Chevy blundering down the street.

Pass the park that preserves youth

And you’ll find yourself at a crossroads

Ahead of you (and even behind you)

Lies a quiet neighborhood slumbering

Looming in the unknown darkness.

Look to the left, now to the right

And see the street stretching before your eyes

Overpowering lights reflect from your eyes to my own

As you stare at me with wonder

At the beauty of this place where we live.

You take my hand and together we are

Launched into space on a trip to the unknown.

Brief Satisfaction

I’ll seduce you

With my words

That kiss your ear

And tickle you with pleasure…

Until you can’t get enough of me

And require instant gratification.

With no romance or bedside manners

We’ll go all night

‘Til the sun peaks through the shades

And wakes you.

Then you’ll walk out my front door

Only to be heard from once more

But never seen again.

Because you got what you came for-

Hip bones clashing

In the heat of the moment.

And I got what I wanted-

To be loved

No matter how briefly.

Cloud 9

Paint your face like a Monet

Your cheeks blushing like pink roses

Whip up your hair like a chocolate souffle

Pinned to your head like a ballerina

Step into your heels like a limousine

With poise like an A-list celebrity

Let’s go dancing like a couple in love

I’ll treat you like the woman you deserve

Slip out of that dress like a new beginning

And we’ll go to sleep like we’re stuck in a dream.

Romance (A Bedroom Story)

In  love,

Sames give

Gaining height.

Motionless

(Forgetful)

Yearn his glance here-

I’m timid

Under his firm eyes.

Newly unearthed, unclothed,

The first touch

Of my sleeping dreams

Woke fate.

So beautiful it made me weep

Vainly, I cried.

Lifting mountains

Creating valleys-

Joy!

He Praised the moon

As I sang with desire.

Joy.

Joy so pure

Twilight would rejoice

In our shadows.

Keen.

Keen beyond conceiving

Strictly

There he stood,

My dream.

Flesh was blood-

A mile uphill,

And I could only smile.

With a gasp.

Scorning

Made me move through his anger.

Motions:

Forward

Backward

Side by side.

Arms extended humbly

Between foe and friend,

Between the foolish and the wise,

Immeasurable impatience…

Hold me closer.

Flames

Caused my will to climb

naked, bare, hungry

shoulders pulled against the dark.

Sorrow:

Look,

You’re still a foe.

Let us join blood and flesh.

Imagination-

A drug…

Giving a heart,

A mind.

Though dull, you taste bright

Though bitter, you are sweet.

Truth-

I say-

Love his soul!

Love him whole.
