Bottled sand
With honey in the sky
Oozing in the distance
With the sun
Setting on the horizon-
What a sight.
Tip the bottle
Uncorked
And watch the
Sand, sea, sun
Tumble out in waves.

Oozing in the distance
With the sun
Setting on the horizon-
What a sight.

At first you didn’t have a name
When you arrived to me
With your tan fluffy fur
Donning a brown ribbon
Speckled with white spots
That was ruined with a rip
And had to be surgically removed
With scissors.
“I’ll call him my feel better bear”
I said to my mom
As I snuggled against your fur
Held you tight against my chest
And hoped you’d make my illness go away.
It was amazing
Because you healed me
And that day onward
You were always by my side.
It wasn’t until I was playing
With a friend in the past but foe in the future
When we decided to name you
“How about Honey?”
She suggested
“He is a bear after all.”
And that was what your name became
Because even though you couldn’t talk
I knew you were as sweet as honey
And what better remedy than that?
After all, you were my feel-better bear.
