Mon cheri,
It is you, j’adore
For your humor
And your caring heart.
It is you
And only you
Je t’aime
For the man
You have always been
You will become
You are.
It is you
And I love you for it.
NaPoWriMo 2013 Poem for the prompt of day 29.
I kept this one to give to my boyfriend on our 2 year anniversary.
I think he liked it 😉
So wonderful and sweetly written. I wanted to tell you that I wrote a post about my oldest daughter’s crush on a French exchange student in the 90’s. This poem could have brought her tears of happiness, once I translated it for her, that is! Thanks so much for sharing this!
Je t’aime in French is very mild…”I like you.” For “I love you” you would best use, “moi je t’aime”. Adding the “me” makes it much more forceful in French, raising like to love. Which is, I think, your intent. Lovely poem.
Thank you! I had no idea. I’ve always wanted to learn French but was guided toward Spanish for the area that I live in.
You learn something new every day, thank you for being the one to teach me! 🙂
